Festival Cancelled for 2020

Celtic Festival 2020 Cancellation Announcement

As you all are aware, we are in the midst of a challenging health crisis. As a result of recent recommendations from the both the PA Department of Health and the CDC “that for the next 8 weeks, organizers cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States” we feel we have no other choice than to cancel our 2020 Dills Celtic Festival.

Please know this decision was made with careful consideration and while we are deeply disappointed, we do feel it is important to the health & safety of our performers, audience, volunteers and staff that we honor this recommendation.

On behalf of NYCHAPS and DABA, we want you to know we appreciate your support and thank you for your interest in this year’s event. Hope to see you at the 2021 Dills Celtic Festival, April 17, 2021.

CDC recommends canceling events with 50 or more people for the next eight weeks throughout US - Interim Guidance for COVID-19 https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/large-events/mass-gatherings-ready-for-covid-19.html

Large events and mass gatherings can contribute to the spread of COVID-19 in the United States via travelers who attend these events and introduce the virus to new communities. Examples of large events and mass gatherings include conferences, festivals, parades, concerts, sporting events, weddings, and other types of assemblies. These events can be planned not only by organizations and communities but also by individuals.

If you have already purchased tickets please bear with us as we work with Brown Paper Tickets to process refunds.

Welcome

On behalf of the Northern York County Historical & Preservation Society (NYCHAPS) and the Dillsburg Area Business Association (DABA), welcome to the Dills Celtic Festival! Over 275 years ago, Scots-Irish settlers like the Dill family ancestors established homes, farms and businesses in areas west of the Susquehanna River as part of the new American Dream. This is the epicenter of Matthew Dill’s American Dream, a 500 acre property purchased in 1742 that would see the gradual development of an entire thriving community! In the spirit of these early Scots-Irish dreamers, today we celebrate their Celtic heritage and culture.
